Author's biography

Inma López Silva was born in Santiago de Compostela (Galicia, northern Spain) in 1978. She is a writer and a theatre critic. She started her literary career in 1996 with the novel Neve en abril (Galaxia), written in Galician, and later on she was awarded some of the most important prizes of the Galician literature: in 2002, the Xerais Prize for the Novel for Concubinas; and in 2008, the Blanco Amor Prize, among others, for Memoria de ciudades sin luz. She has also written the two short stories collection Rosas, corvos e cancións (Galaxia, 2000) and Tinta (Galaxia, 2010); the humor novel No quiero ser Doris Day (Biblos, 2006); New York, New York (Galaxia, 2008 / El Andén, 2009, in Spanish), a text about Manhattan, and Maternosofía (Galaxia, 2014), an essay in connection with her maternity. Los días iguales de cuando fuimos malas (Lumen, 2017), originally published in Galician and translated into Spanish, is her most recent novel and it has already obtained the critics and readers’ recognition, apart from being translated into French by Éditions Solanhets in 2018. Inma López Silva is also a columnist, an essayst and translator of Albert Camus and Jean Genet’s plays.
